Kitesurfing Holidays in Hurghada, Egypt
The kitesurfing spot is near the Mercure Hurghada Hotel, approximately 700 meters downwind of Caribbean-style sandbanks. Right in front of the kitesurf centre, there's a spacious freeride area, perfect for everyone on the water. It's an ideal location for practising gybes or kite jump manoeuvres. Typically, the prevailing wind comes crossshore from the left, and in the morning, it may blow cross-offshore before changing direction. The sandbanks are reachable in a few tacks, depending on the wind direction. Tides vary in height throughout the seasons, affecting the exposure of the sandbanks. The area primarily consists of fine sand with small visible patches of coral, making it advisable to wear neoprene shoes.
A radio rescue system ensures exceptional rescue coverage. You can always get assistance if you are upwind of the sandbanks or in front of the centre.
Upwind from the kitesurf centre, there's an extended sandy beach suitable for experienced kiters to launch and land their kites. During high tide, launching directly from the sandy beach is possible. At low tide, a red buoy near the launching and landing beach indicates where the water becomes shallow. Kitesurfing is possible at any tide height, and kitesurf centre staff are available for launching and landing assistance. Neoprene shoes are also recommended.

For less experienced windsurfers, the Harry Nass Centre provides a boat shuttle to the islands, ensuring safety with a radio rescue system and three available lifeboats.
